How to clean your hairbrushes — and how often to do it?
1.Use a hairbrush cleaner to pull the hair out of the brush. We recommend using scissors to snip the clumps of hair on both sides so that they can easily be removed.
2.Fill a large bowl with warm water and mild shampoo.
3.Swish the brush around in the water.
4.Place the brush bristle side down on a towel and let it dry.

The average person cleans their brush every one to two weeks. For those with longer hair, we recommend cleaning it more frequently. And if you use hair products, a sure sign that it’s time to clean your brush is if you start to see residue form on the bristles.
We also recommend that those who use their brush quite often, or even share it with multiple people, use a sanitizing spray. Do it yourself by using one part water and one part barbicide in a spray bottle and spritzing the brush after use. For at-home use, we suggest using this spray one to two times per week.
Once you start to see missing or bent bristles or can’t seem to get it clean, it’s time to say goodbye and send it off to the place where every day is a good hair day.
